Skylander: Lightning Rod

Upgrade path: Lightning Lord

    Lightning Rod is one of the biggest examples of an underdog skylander, where he went from most players hating to most players loving him. Of course, the former could be attributed to time when people would judge skylanders before they had all of their upgrades because with them, Lightning Rod is an absolute powerhouse. His lightning bolt toss does good damage while continuing to damage enemies after impact. His lightning summoning move is perfect once it's upgraded as it comes much quicker and shreds through enemies. His zapper field is great for closer enemies and lead to one the greatest modern Skylanders challenges (#fluffybuttchallenge). Lightning Rod is hands down one of the best skylanders from the first game, so of course he gets a 5/5, even if he is an obvious Zeus rip-off.
